GVC Holdings has announced a new partnership with Nottingham Trent University Professor of Behavioral Addiction and Psychology Dr. Mark Griffiths to enhance the technology used by the company for player protections. Dr. Griffiths will audit the policies as well as processes that GVC uses for responsible gaming and suggest any improvements needed.
Improving Player Protection
Dr. Griffiths will use his over 30 years of experience in studying addiction and online behaviors to help the company advance in its protection of players. The work provided by the Dr. will be used to deliver a new Advanced Responsibility & Care (ARC) program.
ARC uses player behavior analysis to help enhance player protections. Data scientists of GVC will create predictive models based on the data as well as analytics that will score players based on indicators needed for protection.
Players have a risk rating that will alight with play patterns and other factors. With this information, real-time monitoring and analysis tools to provide early intervention to improve protections for players.
The findings of Dr. Griffiths will be used to develop stronger measures and ways to intervene and help problem gamblers. Behaviors of more than 160 million players will be used by the Dr. to determine the changes needed. He will use the global database of GVC to gather data.
Official Partner of PlayPause
GVC also announced a new partnership with Conscious Gaming. With the deal, GVC will be the first to use PlayPause, a new multi-state tool for responsible gambling. BetMGM will be the first to integrate the tool, the joint venture of GVC and MGM Resorts.
PlayPause is part of the company’s Sustainability Charity, which was revealed earlier in the month. This is the first initiative part of the Charter in the United States. Shay Segev, the CEO of GVC, commented that the company is ‘delighted to be the first official partner of PlayPause.’
GVC believes a responsible operator will be a successful one and the multi-state approach towards responsible gaming that PlayPause provides in the US lines up with its firm commitment to provide customers with a safe and enjoyable experience.
PlayPause provides self-exclusion options for players who travel from state to state. Instead of being limited to a state where they are based. Data can be added of players who have already self-excluded in one state but need recognition in another state.
The change comes just a few days after GVC announced it will soon rebrand as Entain.
